Nepal Telecom has inked major sponsorship deal of 85 Lakhs ( without VAT ) with Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) for 3 years. They signed on the contract papers as the deal will be renewed every year in next 3 years.
A Twenty20 cricket tournament will be organized by Cricket Association of Nepal sponsored by Nepal Telecom and namely “Nepal Telecom Champion Trophy” with a budget of 70 Lakhs being sanctioned every year without VAT.
According to the deal, 25 percentage of amount will be used on the allowances of players also branded as Ambassadors of Nepal Telecom. The contracts were signed by Nepal Telecom’s Deputy Managing Director Buddhi Prasad Acharya and acting president of Cricket Association of Nepal Deepak Koirala.
Before this, Pepsi and Standard Chartered Bank were the joint sponsors while Wai Wai is sponsoring U-19 cricket team. After participating in the Twenty20 world cup in Bangladesh the senior team steeped up-to here without any major sponsors all along.
In the program Deepak Koirala; acting president of CAN said it to be helpful for Nepali cricket and players. Deputy Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Buddhi Prasad Acharya also told that cricket is the most improved and progressed sport in Nepal so we are happy to be a part of Nepali Cricket.
