ICC directs Nepal to prepare for Europe Tour

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has directed Nepal to start preparing for the Netherlands tour slated for coming August. The international cricket governing body has taken charge of the matches following the suspension of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

CAN Chief Executive Officer, Bhawana Ghimire, in a letter sent on Sunday night, has been directed to do the needful for the preparation.  ICC Head of Global Development, Tim Anderson, dispatched the letter to elected CAN Chairman Chatur Bahadur Chand, Chairman of ad-hoc Committee, Ramesh Silwal and National Sports Council.

ICC has entrusted Coach Jagat Tamata and Captain Paras Khadka to select players for the tour. Former Indian cricketer Raju  Venkatapathy is the advisor of the selection committee.

Nepal is competing against the Netherlands in ICC World Cricket League Championship on August 13 and 15. Before that, Nepal will play against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in the historic Lords Crrcket Ground in a match scheduled to commemorate 200 years of Nepal-UK bilateral relationship.
