Meeting the national side is good omen for the new government : PM Dahal

Kathmandu – Newly elected Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that meeting the national side as his first program after being elected the Prime Minister hinted to a good omen for the new government.  The chairman of  Maoist-Center, who was elected prime minister on 3rd August, said this yesterday in the farewell program for national side held at PM residence, Baluwatar for the 4th round of WCLC matches against Netherlands.

The team leaves for The Netherlands today.

“Cricket has been Nepal’s new identity thanks to our the recent performances in international stage”, said Prachanda during the ceremony. He also promised that he will prioritize solving the problems plaguing the cricket administration during his tenure.

After meeting with the Prime Minster Captain Paras also said that the team would give their hundred percent in the matches against Netherlands. ”All the previous encounters of WCLC have been close one. We have played the competitive games and now we are looking forward to perform better and win the game against the Netherlands .

Nepal is set to play  Netherlands on 13 and 15 of August at Amstelveen Cricket Ground. Netherlands are currently on top of WCLC points table and is yet to lose a match in WCLC. Nepal on the other hand is 6th with 4 points and is yet to win a single match away fixture.  The top 4 teams of the WCLC qualify for Qualifiers for 2019 World Cup.

Sunil Dhamala and  Bikram Sob are new in the squad and are looking for their List A debut. It could be an opportunity for the fresh legs to show their potential talents and help the Nepal to win this crucial matches outside the home.
