‘We want to be in the Semifinal anyway’ – Sandeep Lamichhane

Nepal Sports Council bids farewell to Nepal national U-19 Cricket team yesterday. U-19 team is going to participate in ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup starting from 15 December. Nepal team will left to Sri Lanka on tuesday at 11:30 am.

Nepal Sports Council member secretary Keshav Kumar Bista handed Nepali National flag to Captain Sandeep Lamichhane and coach Binod Das during the farewell program.

During Farewell captain Sandeep Lamichhane said that teams moral boost is high and has high hope in the tournament-

‘Match exposure may be less but way the guys are performing in practice game its all going towards right direction” Showing faith towards his fellow teammate he said,’We want to be in the Semifinal anyway’.

Further Coach Binod Das said that 56 players who came from talent hunt are exceptionally well and among them 50% of players have potential to play for Senior team one day. “We didn’t get enough time to prepare players technically but they are well prepared for upcoming Asia Cup anyway” He added.

Nepai Team will face home side Srilanka on 15th of December. Nepal is placed in Group’A’ with Srilanka, India and Malaysia.Team will be lead by Sandeep Lamichhane and Vice-Captain will be high flying Dipendra Singh Airee.

Nepal Team got out of the group stage in 2014 Asia Cup which was held in UAE.
