For the crucial World Cricket League match against Kenya,52 Preliminary players have been selected for Super league this week which will be held in Tribhuwan University ground .Players have been selected on the basis of their personal performance over the last one year.
Super League will be held till 24 January. 52 Selected Players will be divided into Four groups A, B, C & D where they will play Six Matches altogether for 6 days. Matches have been started from 19 of January and will end on 24 of January.
On the basis of performance in the Super League 24 Players will be called in the Closed Camp later this month.As per the News given to Wicket Nepal ICC Officials will Select the players for Kenyan clash.
Players Selected for Super League are mainly comprised of National Team Players,U19 National Players and the likes of Sonu Tamang and Siddhant Lohoni are in the Squad. Likes of Sonu Tamang had the brilliant run in last year’s Dangadi Cricket League,Ruslan Cup T20 and other Domestic Leagues. Right Arm pace bowler Rashid Khan is in the Super League who had the brilliant run in 7th National Games. He is from Central Development Region.
National Team member Karan Kc will not play in the Super league due to his injury problem though he will be called in the Closed camp later on.
Nepal will face Kenya in the Round 5 of World cricket League match on Second week of March.This will be the home game for Nepal though ICC has not given their last laugh regarding this match.
Currently,Nepal is in the Sixth position of ongoing WCLC where Kenya is Placed in Fifth position. It will be the do or die match for Nepal to remain in contention for World cup qualifier by finishing fourth in Eight Team Match.
