Blind T20 World Cup kicks off; Nepal faces Australia

The 2nd Blind Cricket T20 kicked off in India today with hosts and defending India defeating Bangladesh by 129 runs. The first edition of the tournament was also held in India in 2012. In the other match played today Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 10 wickets.

Nepal will face Australia in its first match of the event. Nepal had managed to win one of its 9 matches in 2012, defeating Bangladesh by 9 wickets.

The 10 team event is being held in India from 30th January-5th February. All teams will face each other in league matches with top four teams reaching semi final.

The tournament sparked much media attention this year after appointing Rahul Dravid as event ambassador. The tournament drew more attention when India’s Shekar Naik who lead India to 2012 T20 and 2014 One Day World Cup was chosen as an awardee for the upcoming Padma Shree awards in 2017
