Nepalese Cricketers to get Assistance from Dav Whatmore

Former Australian Player Dav Whatmore will be visiting Nepal to train Nepalese Cricketers ahead of their World Cricket League Championship matches against Kenya.

Bat and Ball Foundation invited Whatmore, who will be here in Nepal for more than 2 weeks. During his stay, Whatmore will be coaching Nepalese Cricketers and will also be providing assistance to the domestic coaches of Nepal.

Paras Shakya who is the Chairman of Bat and Ball Foundation said that Whatmore visit will certainly be fruitful to Nepalese Cricket and the foundation will be bringing more plans for the development of cricket.

Whatmore has played seven Test matches for Australia, and a One Day International. Whatmore has coached Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan national cricket teams and IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders in his coaching career. In December 2014, he was appointed as the coach of the Zimbabwe National Cricket Side and he was with Zimbabwean cricket until the May of last year.

Nepal are preparing for the World Cricket League Championship matches against Kenya which have been scheduled for 11th and 13 of March. Currently, 52 players have been divided into four teams and are competing against each other in Super League. Three-member committee led by national team head coach Jagat Tamatta will pick 24 cricketers based upon the performance of the Super League.
