Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 6 wickets in the final match of ACC Eastern Region Qualifiers and booked their place in U-19 Asia Cup.
Winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, Nepal U-19 restricted Hong Kong U-19 to just 76 runs in 32.1 overs. Contribution from Harpreet Singh and Jhathavedh S S helped Hong Kong to post a score of 76 runs on board. Harpreet scored 20 runs in 45 balls whereas Jhathavedh scored 16 in 32 balls whereas Waqas Khan scored 15 runs while rest of Hong Kong batsman failed to touch double Figures. For Nepal Sandeep Lamichhane and Sahab Alam chipped in with 3 wickets each while Anil Shan and Dipendra Singh Airee managed to pick a wicket each.
In reply Nepal U-19 managed to score 79 runs with the loss of 5 wickets from 14.4 overs. Although it turned into a convincing win at the end. Problem in Nepalese batting was once again exposed. For Nepal Dipendra Singh Airee scored 22 in 26 balls while Pranit Thapa played not out inning of 19 runs in 18 balls. Hong Kong bowlers did try to fight but with just 76 runs on board it turned out to be a difficult job For Hong Kong Karandeep Singh picked up 3 wickets whereas Jhathavedh took 2 wickets.
Sandeep Lamichanne was declared man of the match foe his brilliant contribution with the ball.
