The auction for Dhangadi Premier League, commencing from 17th of Chatira, was held today at Annapurna Hotel, Kathmandu.
72 players from a pool of 192 were bought by 6 teams vying for the prestigious title in Nepali cricket.. The players were categorized in to four groups of A, B, C and D. The auction went till 2 pm which started from 8:30 in the morning.
Basanta Regmi, Karan KC, Aarif Sheikh and Sagar Pun were sold at the utmost price of one lakh fifty thousands. Mahendra United decided to pay the highest price to Karan KC and Aarif Sheikh, while Paras Khadka’s side Biratnagar Kings picked Regmi to be theirs and the tournament’s most expensive player. All rounder Sagar Pun was made the most costly player by Shakti Gauchan’s Rupandehi Challengers.
Biratnagar Kings strengthened their team by paying a heavy fee of One lakh twenty thousand to Prithu Baskota whilst, Pawan Sarraf, Ram Naresh Giri, Saurav Khanal, Dilip Nath and Anil Shah were also bagged at One lakh each.
Spending the least money, CYC Attariya made Kushal Bhurtel and Krishna Karki their most expensive player at a price of one lakh. They also paid ninety thousand to Sandip Jora and eighty thousand to wicketkeeper batsman subash khakurel.
Kathamndu Goldens whose strategic player is Gyanendra Malla splurged one lakh twenty thousand on Naresh Budayer. Lalit Rajbanshi, Amit Shrestha, Kishor Mahato and Shahab Alam were also secured for one lakh each.
Paying a combined fee of three lakhs for Karan KC and Aarif Sheikh, Mahendranagar United spent a total of nine lakhs and fifteen thousand on twelve players. They also spent heavy fee to secure the signings of Rohit Paudel, Bhuwan Karki, Harishankar Shah and Abinash Karn.
Splashing one lakh fifty thousand on Sagar Pun, Rupandehi Challengers announced themselves in the auction. They went on to spend one lakh each on Bikram Bhusal, Sushan Bhari and Siddhant Lohani. Likewise, medium pacer Jitendra Mukhiya was paid ninety thousand by them .
The home side, led by Sompal Kami didn’t reach the mark of one lakh fifty thousand on any players, howeverspending wisely to secure the signings of young guns such as Yogendra Singh Karki, Lalit Singh Bhandari, Sonu Tamang and Sunil Dhamala.
