Chirag Suri stuns Nepal in the third practice match

UAE A falter to 215 all out and only reached that score through a standard 85 runs innings from Chirag Suri. Afterward it was turn of Karthik Mayappan to descend Nepalese innings for a mere 151 runs.

Despite stunning show with the ball, the chase didn’t go to plan. Khan removed the inform Dilip Nath for a golden duck in the second over of the innings. Then came Sharad to bat who was also dismissed by Hazrat Bilal in the third over for a single run; Nepal were 12/2 at that point of match. Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals and none batsman could continue at the middle for significant time. Dipendra Airee added 26 runs before being bowled out by Karthik Mayappan when the team score was 101. From five down, Rohit struck a few shots before the innings came to an end for 151 runs in 39th over.

Earlier, UAE A won the toss and elected to bat first. It was the seventh wicket partnership that stopped an enduring collapse of UAE A innings. For the seventh wicket, the duo of Chirag Suri and Ali Mirza managed 96 runs together. Suri was the only batsman to complete a half century in the match. His match winning innings of 85 runs compiled 10 gripping fours. Ali mirza was unbeaten till the end at 42 runs from 48 balls. After the dismissal of Suri, Nepal quickly bundled the tail enders receiving the target of 216 to clean sweep the series.

Birthday boy Sompal kami and Lalit Bhandari gave a dazzling start for Nepal as UAE A lost the first 6 wickets for only 102 runs. Despite bowling with discipline in the first half of the innings , Nepal gave away too much runs towards the end of innings. Sompal snapped 3 wickets to his name while another pacer Lalit took 2 wickets.

Nepal will fly to Namibia on February 4 to participate in the ICC World Cricket League division-2 tournament where 6 teams will compete for remaining two places for the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.
