The most valuable player of DPL-2 will take home the golden boot for the first time in competition history.
In a press meet held at Kathmandu, it was announced that Kiran Shoes Manufactuirer’s Goldstar will be the official footwear partner of the tournament. Gold star will sponsor worth 16 Lakhs among which 9 Lakhs will be cash and the rest miscellaneous. Dhangadi Premier League’s organizer and Dhangadi Cricket Academy’s CEO Subash Shahi and Kiran Shoes Manufacturer’s chief Bidushi Rana signed a contract in the event held at Kathmandu.
The player of the tournament will get a brand new motorbike while the most valuable player will receive a golden boot sponsored by Gold Star.
However, the criteria for the most valuable player have not been announced yet. From a special source of wicketnepal.com, it can be predicted that, based on spectators voting and on field performance of a player, the most valuable player will be decided. The golden shoe will not be entirely made of gold. A silver shoe will be encapsulated with a golden plate.
DPL is set to kick off from 17th of Chaitra where Team Chauraha Dhangadi and Kathmandu Goldens are set to compete in the opening match. The winner of the tournament will be rewarded with cash prize of 25 Lakhs, which is the most among any domestic tournaments in Nepal.
