Kathmandu Golden’s required one run from the final ball but Gyanendra Malla hoisted it for a huge six to secure the two points for the Goldens. Kathmandu won the match by 5 wickets in the ultimate delivery of the match.
Malla’s captain knock was vital for the Goldens. His 68 came from just 40 balls at much needed instance. His matured knock in the middle of the match was good enough to win it for Kathmandu. At a strike rate of 170 he stroked 5 fours and 4 over the boundary hits. At 133 runs Goldens lost Puspa Thapa for well built 24 off 17 balls. Then came Sunny Patel who threw the kitchen sink. With 3 sixes and a four he smashed 25 runs from 10 balls at perfect time for the Golden’s helping on their course to victory. The bowling card didn’t look pretty with Basant Regmi standing out with 4-0-27-2 for Biratnagar Kings.
Earlier, Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 164 on the board with 8 casualties courtesy of Babar Hayat’s 67 from 33 balls.
