Chitwan Rhinos, a team competing in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), unveiled their team jersey on Monday evening during a special event.
The jersey was jointly launched by Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal, Chitwan Medical College Managing Director Prof. Dr. Harishchandra Neupane, Chitwan Rhinos Club President Ayush Neupane, team coach Umesh Patwal, and marquee player Kushal Malla.
The event featured the team players showcasing the jersey, accompanied by a one-horned rhino mascot and traditional Panche Baja music. The team’s theme song was also officially released during the program.
Mayor Dahal highlighted the metropolitan city’s commitment to promoting sports and supporting athletes. She emphasized that the city is increasing investments in the sports sector to nurture skilled and talented players.
“We are expediting the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium. Once completed, it will further boost the production of capable athletes,” she said.
Chitwan Rhinos’ marquee player Kushal Malla expressed his determination to perform with high morale and focus on winning games. Club President Ayush Neupane stated that the team comprises talented players, reinforcing their confidence in achieving victory.
The team includes players Kushal Malla, Rijan Dhakal, Kamal Singh Airee, Sharad Vesawkar, Bipin Rawal, Santosh Karki, Dipesh Shrestha, Amar Singh Rautela, Deepak Bohara, Ranjeet Kumar, Gautam KC. Additionally, international players Ravi Bopara, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Marchant De Lange, Luc Benkenstein, Hassan Eisakhil have been signed.
During the event, Chitwan Rhinos Cricket Club, formed in 1994, honored its former captain Manish Sapkota and other players by presenting them with the team jersey. The club also gifted Chitwan Rhinos a vintage bat that the team had used in earlier matches.
