Royal PC fighter and Baluwatar Cricket Club were victorious in the Saturday’s contest of Khukuri Challengers T-20 Cricket Tournament being held at Mulpani Cricket Ground, Kathmandu.
Electing to bat first, Lord Buddha Cricket Club lost all their wickets for a meager 66 runs. Mehboob Alam picked up 4 wickets as Lord Buddha was bundled in 13.4 over’s. Bowling four over’s, he gave away merely 11 runs to dismiss Lord Buddha for a small score. Likes wise Dipesh Khatri also snapped 3 wickets (4-1-9-3) whilst Shamser Chand took 2 wickets.
It took 8.5 over’s for Fighters to complete the chase of 67 runs. Openers Rabin Joshi led the chase with 43 runs from 29 balls with 9 fours. Dipesh Khatri made 2 while long returning Subash Khakurel could only manage 2 runs.
In the other match of the day, Baluwatar Cricket Club defeated IOE Pulchowk by 1 wicket in a nail biting encounter.
IOE Pulchowk put on 86 runs on the board and were dismissed in 19.5 over’s. Aman Nath Mandal was the top scorer for them with 30 runs from 34 balls with 5 fours. Likewise, Chiranjibi Pandey and Dinesh Thagunna scored 10 runs while other players couldn’t manage to reach double figures.
Poor communication between the batsman led IOE to lose 6 wickets as run outs whereas Xitiz Singh topped the bowling charts with 2 wickets.
In reply, Baluwatar Cricket Club reached the target losing 9 wickets in the last ball of the innings. Amar Singh Routela top scored for them with 23 runs. His innings incorporated 3 fours and a six. Xitiz Singh was another batsman who played crucial role in chasing the target as he scored 13 runs for the team.
For IOE, Subash Aryal picked 3 wickets while Chiranjibi Pandey and Nabin Neupane took 2 wickets each.
